Headwaters Health Care Centre’s community engagement update

We were thrilled to talk about our local hospital with people visiting Tim Horton’s on 46 Broadway, Orangeville as part of the 2nd Annual Radiothon event. Thanks to our partner the Headwaters Health Care Foundation and sponsors Tim Horton’s and 101.5myFM for allowing us to be onsite while they worked their magic on the airwaves.

Nearly 80 people completed our engagement survey! While we didn’t have conversations with everyone, we did manage to talk to many of you. Thanks for giving us your time, sharing your stories and experiences and offering your suggestions.

What did we hear? People want to make sure they get care when they need it, ensuring there’s enough parking at the hospital is also important and volunteer support was mentioned often and we were told of numerous comments (even names!) about specific nurses, physicians and others at the hospital who either provided care for someone or their family member or friend, or who was there for them, during their own hospital stay.

What’s apparent is that Headwaters has a great deal of community support. People are willing to tell us their stories and offer feedback. We will report back soon with more of our early emerging themes.

Don’t miss your opportunity to tell your story.

Complete the short survey online, or in person at one of our upcoming engagements, and let us know how we are doing and where we can improve.

And by the way, the 2nd Annual Radiothon surpassed its fundraising goal, raising $20,500 for much needed hospital equipment at Headwaters! Thanks to everyone for giving back to your community hospital.
